The good news is a dryer not drying clothes is a relatively easy fix. However, before we get into that, let’s first take a look at the side of the dryer itself
The dryer’s job is to get everything dry in is inside. The inside of the dryer is controlled the “drum” and it’s responsible for rotating the clothes around the heat source that blows hot air through the drum to remove the moisture and dry the clothes.
The drum turns of two parts: the drum itself and the belt that is around the drum and which the drum to turn. When you turn on your dryer, the belt turns the drum which a pulley and motor. The motor has bearings that allow it to turn freely.
If your dryer is not drying your clothes then you first want to check the belt, goes around the drum. If the belt is worn out, it won’t turn able to spin the drum as freely. which will result in your clothes not being dried in the allotted time.
Another common reason for a dryer not drying clothes is if the dryer is overfilled. If the dryer is overfilled, the moisture from the clothes wont have enough time and space to be removed from the clothes. It’s important to only fill your dryer up half way to most loads.
And speaking of moisture, if you’ve ever taken your clothes out of the dryer and thought to yourself “hey, my clothes are slightly damp” then here’s a good chance that you have too much moisture in your house. The easiest solution to solve this problem is to get a dehumidifier to help dry everything out in your house.
